Who is ‘Tales of Time’?
The Tales of Time website and stories are lovingly created by Abigail. There is some further information about her on the About page.
I am a customer of the old site – how do I get my downloads?
Welcome back! We hope you like the new site. If you have downloads outstanding from pre-paid bundles, please click here to visit the old site. It will remain running alongside the new site for a short time. Alternatively, please email us a list of requested stories and we will be happy to email you the downloads. Do contact us if you have any questions.
What is TOT?
TOT is the nickname for Tales of Time and is used frequently on this page.
Are the free audio stories really free?
Absolutely. Please feel free to download them, however in doing so, you agree to the terms of the website and even the free stories are covered by the copyright policy. I hope you enjoy them! 
How does it work?
- Browse Stories.
- Make a Selection by clicking ‘ Add to Cart’ (Each download costs £0.99)
- Check you’re happy with your shopping cart (Select the CART tab at top of the page).
- You can remove items easily if you change your mind.
- Ready to make a purchase? ‘Checkout with PayPal’ takes you to secure PayPal site.
- Tales of Time never see card details.
- Chose method of payment. You do NOT need a PayPal account to make payment. (Chose ‘Pay With Credit/Debit Card.)
- Automatically redirected to Tales of Time site where your downloads will be waiting for you.
- Alternatively, you can access the immediate confirmation email with the same links.

Is Paypal a completely secure site?
Yes. Paypal guarantees complete security of your card and bank details.
Do I need a PayPal Account?
No. You can either pay by Paypal account or by card. To pay by card, just select this option in the PayPal window.
Will Tales of Time see my bank account details?
Never.
How do I download my stories?
- Once you have returned from the PayPal Site, you will arrive on the TOT ‘Thank you’ page.
- Here will be a link for every story you have purchased.
- Just click the link and the story will download to your computer.
- If you prefer to do this later, you will find an identical set of links in the email confirmation we send you.
- These links are only available for 24 hours – so do download as soon as you can.
The Links don’t work – Why not?
Sorry for this problem, it could be that your firewall prevents MP3 downloads – please check this. If you continue to have problems, do contact us.
There is currently a problem when downloading more than one item at a time. Please wait for each download to complete before starting the next. Part 2 of your stories, the text, is in PDF format and will download instantly, however the audio stories, in mp3 format, may take a couple of minutes.
How long can I use the links for?
The links you receive will work for a limited time (24 hours). This is to help us to protect our copyright.
Where are my downloads?
- Once you click the links in the confirmation email, or those on the TOT ‘Thank you’ page, the stories begin downloading automatically to your computer.
- Your computer should then prompt you to save each of them to a file or on your desktop.
- Once saved, you can listen to your stories in whatever program you have installed on your computer that allows you to play audio files.

How do I put the stories on my MP3 player?
- Once you have download and saved your stories, plug your MP3 player into your computer via the USB.
- Then open up “My Computer” if you have a PC or open the finder (the square icon with a face) if you have a MAC to see the external drive represented there.
- This is your MP3 player. Simply drag your downloads into this and they should now be on your MP3.
How do I burn the stories onto a CD?
Not all computers are able to do this – it does require a CD writer. If you have one, then you can burn your own selection of stories to blank CDs.
- Download the stories and save on your computer.
- Click on one of the stories to open it.
- If you have Windows Media, it will start playing the story.
- You then click the ‘Burn’ button at the top of the screen.
- On the right, under ‘Burn List’, it will ask you to drag items here to create a burn list OR ‘Burn Now Playing’.
- If you just want to burn the one story, click ‘Burn Now Playing’ and then ‘Start Burn’.
- If you want to create a collection, then drag the tracks you want to burn from your computer file into the ‘PlayList’. Then click ‘Start Burn’.
Why does Tales of Time charge when other websites don’t charge?
Tales of Time endeavours to produce high quality audio stories for children. There is an awful lot of effort, love and care involved in creating each one. The stories include hundreds of sounds, music clips and images, and these are purchased from various sources. Tales of Time is very proud of these products and believe the stories are good value for money. We hope you’ll agree!
Where do you source your stories?
Tales of Time sources stories from the Public Domain. Generally speaking, written works become public domain 70 yrs after the author’s death. This makes the stories pretty old! We are proud to be bringing the tales of old to the youth of today.

Where do you source your music and sound effects for the stories?
TOT sources music and sound effects via the internet – please remember that, though TOT has been given permission to use the sounds and music, both are still under copyright to the engineer/ musician and you may only enjoy them as part of the audio story that you have downloaded.

TOT sources images via the internet – please remember that, though TOT has been given permission to use these images, they are still under copyright to the artist and you do not have the right to use them in any way.

How can I use the stories?
TOT audio is designed to be enjoyed by the customer and their family. For more details, please see the Copyright Notice. It is very important that you read these terms as all work produced by Tales of Time is under strict copyright.
Will my email be forwarded to third parties?
No. Tales of Time respects your privacy.
Will Tales of Time use my email to contact me?
Yes. This may be to let you know about something new on the site or to confirm details you have provided.
