Are the free audio stories really free?
Absolutely. Enjoy.
How do I download?
Just click the download button in the story page and it will be automatically stored in your Downloads Folder; however you may want to file it somewhere more convenient.
Do I need a special programme to play the audio stories on the computer?
No. Just click play on the website for wonderful sounds!
How can I purchase audio stories from Tales of time?
You can purchase bundles of 3, 5 or 10 downloads or you can become a member.
Why does Tales of Time charge for their audio stories?
Tales of Time is striving to be a safe site for children. Unlike some other children’s sites, we do not accept advertising on our site or on our audio. We therefore charge a membership fee to allow us to function as a business.
What are bundles?
You can choose to buy 3, 5 or 10 audio stories. You then choose your downloads and can burn them to CD or play them on your iPod. A great way to get the kids to learn to read, relax in the car or go to bed!
After purchasing, how long until I can get downloads?
You can start downloading audio stories immediately. Just retrieve the email we send, click the link and log in.
Do I have to download the stories immediately?
No, you can log in whenever you like to choose your audio stories. But don’t forget that the very first time requires you to retrieve our email and click the link, as this activates your account.
How do I know how many stories I have left?
You can check your downloads by clicking the ‘My Account’ link at the bottom of the page.
What if I want to purchase more bundles?
No problem, you can simply log in and click ‘My Account’ where you can then choose to add a bundle without having to register again. Just confirm your payment with PayPal and you can start downloading immediately.
What is the benefit of subscribing?
Members can listen to ALL audio stories/ poems online. You can read along or print off the text. You can download 15 of the audio stories/ poems and burn them to CD or play them on your iPod. A great way to get the kids to learn to read, relax in the car or go to bed!
How much is the subscription?
Tales of Time Subscription is just £2.99 per month.
After subscribing, how long until I can get downloads?
You can start downloading audio stories immediately. Just retrieve the email we send you, click the link to activate your account, and log in.
How will the monthly payments be made?
Payments are made automatically. Our members can relax in the knowledge that their Tales of Time Subscription continues seamlessly. With PayPal, whichever payment method you choose, they will deduct £2.99 from your account on the same day each month until such time as you wish to cancel.
How long does this subscription last?
Your £2.99 payment starts immediately and allows you member access for one month. Your automatic monthly payments continue until you cancel.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation of membership is easy. You can email us via the 'Contact us' page. Alternatively, you can log into your PayPal account and cancel directly with them.
When can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time.
After cancelling, when does my subscription end?
If you cancel halfway through a paying month, you can still enjoy full use of the site until the end of that paying month (i.e. you might have paid one month on the 3rd, you cancel on the 7th, you can still enjoy downloads until the 2nd of the following month.
Can I choose to end the subscription immediately and get reimbursed for unused weeks?
Sorry, no. Our policy is that you will receive the full month that you paid for. No reimbursements will be made.
How many downloads can I have?
With Tales of Time membership you can have 15 downloads a month.
How many times can I download each story?
You can download 15 different audio stories/poems each month. This is something we have had to put in place to stop losing our work. But never fear! All audio stories are accessible again the following month.
Are you illustrations under copyright?
Yes. All our illustrations are under copyright to the artists. Should you like any further information, please see our copyright page. The Learn more pages do contain some pictures and illustrations which are in the public domain.
Are there any audio stories with themes that might offend?
Tales of Time has tried to ensure that these audio stories do not offend. However, we strive to be as culturally diverse as possible and there may be some stories from cultures or religions different to yours. We believe that a mix of these themes is crucial for our children to live in today’s world in peace.
Why does TOT produce some audio stories which have a religious theme?
In this day and age, children are immersed in a beautiful sea of multiple religions, beliefs and cultures. We believe that understanding and respect for one another’s beliefs is the key to tolerance and love. We hope we are contributing to that understanding by proving access to multiple religions. Tales of Time has no bias towards a religion. If we have yet to touch on any, it is only for lack of time or learning on our part. Please be patient with us. We would love suggestions too!

Why can’t I log in?
If you are a member of Tales of Time, you need to log in using your email address and your password.
If you have multiple email addresses, try them all.
Perhaps you have forgotten your password. You can retrieve a temporary one from us by following the ‘Forgotten?’ link.
Can I choose my own password?
Of course. You choose your password when you register with us. You can also change your password at any time by going into ‘My Account’ and selecting ‘Change Password’.
What is PayPal?
PayPal is a highly-respected internet payment site. It offers secure transaction processing. Tales of Time has an account with them as we respect your privacy and we want to offer the highest level of security when you are paying. Details entered on this page are not shared with us, except 'Who paid for what and when.'

Do I have to be a PayPal member to pay?
PayPal do request that you register with them. Should you already be a member, you will be asked to log in to your account.

We use PayPal because it offers complete security to our customers.
Can I pay by card?
Yes. You are able to select your payment method once on the PayPal page.
How Can I use Tales of Time audio?
Tales of Time audio is designed to be enjoyed by the membership or bundle owner and their family. For more details on our terms of use, please follow the link at the bottom of the page. Please note that sharing Tales of Time audio in a way that contravenes these pages is an infringement of copyright and will be pursued as such.
I have been recommended to look at this site – what does this mean?
This means that one of your friends is a Tales of Time visitor and is so happy with the service and quality of work provided, that they think you will love it too. They have therefore suggested that we email you to let you know about us. This is a one-time only email and we do not see or keep your email address.
How can I recommend TOT?
We’re glad you asked! At the bottom of the right hand side of our pages is a small tab called ‘Recommend us’. Once clicked, you let us know the email address of someone who you recommend us to. Then let us know who you are too. This is so the recipient of our email knows that it was you who suggested it. This information is not stored and your friend will receive a one-time only email.
Where can I leave suggestions?
We relish suggestions and comments. Please feel free to send us messages using our 'Contact Us' page. You can find this at the bottom of the page.
How often will the site be updated?
Tales of time aims to produce at least eight audio stories/ poems a month.
Why have you sometimes changed bits of the traditional stories?
Where we can, Tales of Time tries to bring you audio as close as possible to the original story. However, there are some stories which contain what are now considered offensive references, themes or words. We have changed/left out any we notice. However, we have not gone to extremes as we think some political correctness goes too far. Also, we have seen fit to rejuvenate some stories, without modernising them. We hope today's children will find them entertaining.
Who has written the stories for Tales of Time?
Most of our audio stories have been written by Abigail. But she didn’t invent them all. Our 'Learn More' pages have details of any original authors.
Will Tales of Time ever send spam?
No, Tales of Time runs honestly and ethically.
Why does Tales of Time site open up a new page?
Aha! We have designed TOT to open up into a new page so that your children can be as safe as possible when enjoying our site. This function means that even if they click the browser’s back button – they cannot accidentally find themselves surfing the wicked wide web!
